Repubblica è un potente quotidiano fortemente ideologico, che vanta una superiorità morale in base a cui giudicare tutto e tutti. I suoi articoli sono spesso faziosi; tra i suoi bersagli preferiti (vedi Odifreddi, Augias…) c’è la Chiesa; in politica Repubblica rappresenta il continuo tentativo di influenzare, da fuori, la politica e la democrazia (fu De Benedetti a lanciare Rutelli, e sempre lui a lanciare Veltroni (per poi abbandonarlo); è lui che, dopo aver sponsorizzato invano Franceschini, sta affondando Bersani…).
Però su Repubblica e i suoi giornalisti si potrebbe scrivere un libro nero. Ne abbiamo già fatta una parte:
